Senior Men take out their frustrations on Glasgow

ST MIRREN RKC 83 GLASGOW STORM 74

THIS game was a real tonic for the St Mirren Senior Men as they bounced back in the best possible fashion against Storm.

Just 24 hours earlier they had visited Edinburgh and lost 80-53 defeat to the Capitals.

But they returned to court the following day and took out their frustrations on their near neighbours.

It was a good start to the game from Saints with Fraser Glass, Dave Johnston, Nic Collins and Chris Cleary all scoring well to ensure a good 24-14 lead.

But it was followed by a turnaround second quarter with Storm taking it 22-17 with three three-point shots making a big difference.

A hard-fought third quarter saw Kyle Haldane score five points as again Storm edged the quarter 22-20 to further reduce Saints’ lead.

This led to the usual fourth quarter finish with mistakes on both sides but Saints managed to maintain their scoring with 22 points for the quarter, with Haldane’s seven points and Nic Collins’ eight points being the difference between the sides and securing the win.

Top scorers for St Mirren were Chris Cleary with 21 points, Nic Collins on 17 points, Dave Johnston with 15 and Kyle Haldane with 13.
