REN 96 swimmers make a splash
TALENTED swimmers from the REN 96 swim team were back in the pool to provide great competition during the Winter Age Group Graded Meet at the Tryst Sports Centre, Cumbernauld.
Supervising the kids on the day were REN 96 coaches Sandy Blackwood and Nicola Mathieson.
And they watched their proteges post some impressive times against some tough opposition.
Nikki Miller took part in the Female eight to nine years 50m fly and she was top of the podium at the end.
Nikki posted a double when she won the female eight to nine years 100m backstroke in a time of 1min 31.48secs.
But Nikki was not finished there.
The young swimmer won the female eight to nine years 100m freestyle, timed at 1min 2.64secs.
And the victories kept coming for Nikki as she touched home first in the female eight to nine years 50m freestyle, with a great time of 35sec flat.
She also went on to finish second in the female eight to nine years 100m breastroke in a speedy 1min 45.95secs.
Caitlyn Truesdale was up against some fine swimmers in the female 10 years 100m backstroke and she equipped herself well to finish sixth in the final.
A place behind Caitlyn was team-mate Kirsty McGinley in a time of 1min 31.43secs.
Rebecca Crumlin of REN 96 took part in the same event and she finished in 13th place.
Rebecca also returned to compete in the female 100m breaststroke, finishing in eighth place.
Caitlyn Duffy won herself a podium position for her third place in the female eight to nine years 100m backstroke, while team-mate Erin H Wallace was ninth.
Ross Young was a winner in the male 100m freestyle, leaving the opposition in his wake to come home in 1min 22.38secs.
Ross also finished second in the final of the male 10 years 200m individual medley in a time of 3mins 18.33secs.
There was a fourth place for Ross in the final of the male 10 years 50m freestyle and a third place for him in the male 100m fly.
Mhairi High was celebrating after she won the final of the female 12 years 100m freestyle and Christopher Owen was delighted to win the male 14 years male 100m fly.
