SCOTTISH Rocks superstars are going cock-a-hoop as they bid to become record breakers.
The country’s only professional basketball team is hoping to smash the world record for the number of cars they can shoot a hoop over in a daring bid to raise cash for Children in Need.
Accompanied by their cheerleading counterparts, the Rockettes and their mascot, Sammy G, the event promises some fantastic action as the six foot something basketball players go for gold.
The basketball team – who used to play at Braehead before transferring to the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow – is being sponsored by Scotland’s only car supermarket, Motorpoint.
As well as lending the cars for the Rocks attempt, they will contribute £100 for every car the basketball players can shoot a hoop over to Children in Need – which is being hosted tonight by Terry Wogan – when they attempt the feat this afternoon.
Millions are due to tune in to the annual entertainment spectacular which is screened tonight on BBC1.
Kind-hearted Buddies are being asked to give generously to help youngsters who need help most.
