PLAYERS flocked to the Paisley Golf Club Annual Mixed Open event, sponsored by Beattie Glass, and enjoyed a fun-packed afternoon with plenty of fierce rivalry for the silverware.
Club manager John Hillis said: “Eighty players took part in this popular event in Paisley’s calendar.
“Playing conditions were excellent, as was the weather.
“Local players don’t tend to do well in the tournament but this year was the exception with almost a clean sweep of the prizes.
“Local dentist Gordon Drummond and his wife Anne posted a very respectable 69, but Sandra Hunt and David Black’s 64 was more than enough to take first prize.”
The sponsor, Joe Beattie of Beattie Glass, in Paisley, was unable to attend so captain, Lennie Herd, officiated at the prize-giving ceremony.
The results were as follows: 1st: Sandra Hunt & David Black (Paisley GC) 64, 2nd: Anne & Gordon Drummond (Paisley GC), 69, 3rd: Lynn & Derek Forsyth (Paisley GC) 71, 4th: Karen Miller & James Hood (Loudon Gowf) 73.
