Golf: Ranfurly go five points clear

OLD Ranfurly have opened up a significant gap at the top of the Renfrewshire Seniors Golf League.

The Bridge of Weir based club enjoyed a narrow 3-2 win over Kilmacolm in a battle of the top two during the latest round of games.

As a result Old Ranfurly move five points clear in the race for this year’s title.

Ranfurly Castle have moved up to take joint second spot after they demolished Elderslie 5-0, while Paisley and Renfrew will be left frustrated when they best they could muster was a 2½-2½ draw.

The latest set of results were as follows: Kilmacolm 2 Old Ranfurly 3, Ranfurly Castle 5 Elderslie 0, Paisley 2½ Renfrew 2½.
