CALEDONIA remain the early pace-setters in the Paisley and District Indoor Bowling Association Division One – despite failing to back up their opening day whitewash with another win.
The Greenock Road side took all eight points as they got their season off to the perfect start on day one.
But after their opening day jubilation, last Wednesday they had to settle for a share of the spoils as they were held by Shanks to a 4-4 stalemate.
Second-place Anchor, who also recorded an 8-0 win on the opening day, slumped to a 5-3 defeat against Crofthead as they failed to keep up their winning start.
Blacklandmill, on the other hand, enjoyed better luck with a 6-2 win against Charleston and move up to third place.
Inchinnan are also up one place to fourth following their 4-4 draw with Johnstone.
Elderslie Wallace also posted a victory with a 6-2 win, as did Kilbarchan, who won by the same margin.
In Division Two, Nitshill are the new leaders, despite only mustering a 4-4 draw with Neilston.
Woodlands have moved up to second place following an 8-0 drubbing of Hawkhead.
Inkerman remain in third after they slumped to a 6-2 reverse against Crookston.
Barrhead also tasted defeat as they took a sore 6-2 beating by Ferguslie, while Linwood did the same to Renfrew.
Ralston and Wellmeadow fought out a 4-4 draw.
Elsewhere, Abercorn raced to the top of Division Three thanks to a 6-2 opening day triumph over Paisley Comrades.
They stay ahead of Priorscroft, though, only by alphabetical order after they two knocked up a 6-2 win against Eaglesham.
The day’s other two games between British Legion against Spateston, and Lilybank’s encounter with Midton, both ended with the spoils shared following 4-4 scorelines.
In Reserve Division One, Renfrew have soared to the top of the league with a 4-2 win over Inchinnan A.
However, Blacklandmill are close behind, despite their 4-2 defeat to Wellmeadow.
Inkerman registered the result of the day with a fabulous 6-0 win over Shanks, while Charleston beat Ralston 4-2. Caledonia and Anchor both had free weeks.
Barrhead now lead the way in Reserve Division Two after a 6-0 thrashing of Elderslie Wallace.
Johnstone slipped back from top spot after losing 4-2 to Hawkhead, while Inchinnan B move up into third place after the beat Neilston 4-2.
Victoria are also on the rise following their 6-0 win against Linwood, while Woodlands and Meikleriggs were both left idle last week.
