Paisley gear up for league start

PAISLEY Indoor Bowling Club’s gents team are hoping to make up for last year’s disappointment when they start their league campaign on Saturday.

The Buddies start their season with a difficult away fixture to East Lothian.

But that won’t affect their determination to go one better this season after they were left disappointed as runners-up in their section last term.

The team line-ups for Saturday’s clash have been confirmed.

Rink one will consist of N Gedde, I Cowan, R Taylor and D Fisher.

Rink two will feature D Faulds, G MacLeod , C Bence and J Gilmartin. In rink three, J O’Sullivan lines up with G Wiggins, D Stobo and one other as yet unnamed player.

Rink four will be competed by S Fisher, L Young, D Moffat and J Ross.

The ladies side also kick-off their league season this weekend and are hoping to get off to a great start in their home tussle against Glasgow.

The game starts at 2pm and the girls are looking for a good home support to come out and cheer them on in their efforts at the Wallneuk Road Stadium.

The team for rink one will see I McCready line up alongside A Clark, I McLaughlin and J Ritchie.

In rink two, V Wilson, A Whitelaw, G Palmer and H Dobson have been named alongside one another.

Rink three will see B Louden lead out J Campbell, M Ronald and A M Fletcher.

Rink four has E Ellingham, L Wilson, M Anderson and K Houston ready to fight for victory.

Meanwhile, the seniors’ first league game this season is a home game against Dumbarton.

The clash starts at 11am on Saturday and is sure to be a good game.
