Wellmeadow on the brink of title joy

WELLMEADOW would appear to have one hand on the Paisley Veterans Bowling Association Outdoor League.

Thanks to their latest league victory, a 6-2 win over Ferguslie, they have soared 13 points clear at the top of the table.

Now, barring a disaster in their last couple of games, it is they who will be kings of the green.

Second-placed Ralston lost some valuable points as they were held to a 4-4 draw with Anchor, while Caledonia’s hopes faded with a 5-3 defeat to Hawkhead.

Defeat has cost Caledonia dear. They drop down fifth in the table.

Renfrew eased past Elderslie Wallace 5-3, while Victoria beat Blacklandmill 5-3.
