WITH the Paisley and District Bowling Association League campaigns out of the way, the focus of attention now turns to the Champion of Champions events.
The tournament, for Junior (Under-30) Singles, Singles, Pairs, Triples, Four and Senior Fours, gets under way next month.
Barrhead BC is the setting for one of the preliminary rounds involving two teams who are taking part in the Senior Fours.
Linwood take on Charleston at Barrhead, while First Division Champions Anchor must negotiate a tricky prelim with Abercorn at Charleston.
The prelims will be played on Saturday, August 20, at 10am.
The winner of the Linwood versus Charleston game will take on the winner of the Anchor/Abercorn game in the first round proper at Priorscroft BC on Saturday, August 27, at 10am.
In the Fours, Meikleriggs will play Renfrew at Charleston in the prelims, while Priorscroft play Wellmeadow at Barrhead, again both games being staged on Saturday, August 20.
The winners of those two games will go head to head in the first round at Hawkhead on Saturday, August 27.
In the Triples prelims, Neilston will play Hawkhead at Barrhead, while Blacklandmill and Victoria go head to head at Charleston.
Once again, these games will be set aside for Saturday, August 20.
The winners do battle in round one at Meikleriggs.
In the Pairs prelims, Ferguslie must beat Elderslie at Barrhead and Kilbarchan must overcome the challenge of Anchor at Charleston.
The two winners will then play their first round game at Meikleriggs.
In the Under-30s Singles there are a few preliminary games that have to be decided.
The fixtures are as follows: Caledonia v Linwood at Priorscroft, Ferguslie v Charleston at Blacklandmill, Meikleriggs v Barrhead at Renfrew, Neilston v Wellmeadow v Anchor, Renfrew v Priorscroft at Meikleriggs, Elderslie v Kilbarchan at Hawkhead, Blacklandmill v Victoria at Ferguslie.
Those who get through to the first round will play their games at Ralston, Linwood, Victoria and Abercorn.
In the Singles, Barrhead play Ralston at Charleston and the other preliminary game involves Caledonia and Abercorn at Barrhead.
