WELLMEADOW have taken a huge stride towards winning this year’s Paisley Veterans Bowling Association Outdoor League.
The table-toppers extended their lead with a crucial 6-2 win over Ralston, in what was a heavyweight contest between the division’s top two.
As a result, the pacesetters have moved a comfortable 11 points ahead in the race for the title.
Ralston can little afford any more defeats in the games to come if they are to stop the Wellmeadow bandwagon.
Third-placed Caledonia kept their feint hopes alive with a 6-2 win over Elderslie Wallace and Ferguslie had a good week, beating Anchor 5-3.
Victoria’s woes continued for another week as they were demolished 8-0 by a sizzling Inchinnan side, while Priorscroft and Blacklandmill fought out a 4-4 draw.
Meikleriggs were slain by Charleston 6-2 and Renfrew and Hawkhead fought out a 4-4 draw.
Week 12 results were as follows: Hawkhead 4 Renfrew 4, Inchinnan 8 Victoria 0, Priorscroft 4 Blacklandmill 4, Caledonia 6 Elderslie Wallace 2, Charleston 6 Meikleriggs 2, Anchor 3 Ferguslie 5, Ralston 2 Wellmeadow 6, Kilbarchan 4 Abercorn 4.
