ANCHOR are the new kings of the Paisley and District Bowling Association First Division.
The Paisley side romped to the Championship title a healthy 14 points ahead of nearest rivals Charleston.
Anchor popped the champagne corks as they signed off their season with a hearty 11-5 win over Renfrew.
And Charleston – although 10-6 winners over Kilbarchan – could not prevent the Anchor team from clinching the title.
Caledonia’s 9-7 win over Ferguslie means they will finish the season in third spot.
Barrhead signed off on a major high, beating Elderslie 10-6, while Blacklandmill and Meikleriggs drew 8-8.
And in Division Two, it is Ralston who finished top of the pile.
Although they were defeated in their final game, a 10-6 loss to Hawkhead, they gathered enough points to win the Championship over Victoria, who thumped Neilston 12-4.
Wellmeadow were the third-placed club, the Buddies defeating Abercorn 12-4 in their last game of the campaign.
The other notable result in the division saw Priorscroft slump to a 10-6 defeat to Linwood.
In the Reserve Division, there is still much to play for with Blacklandmill and Caledonia battling it out for the title.
Blacklandmill’s 3-1 win over Ralston keeps them top going into today’s final round of games, while Caledonia experienced frustration with a 2-2 draw against Charleston.
Anchor enjoyed a morale boosting 4-0 win over Renfrew, while Elderslie and Meikleriggs drew 2-2.
