CHARLESTON lead the Paisley and District Women’s Bowling Association League in their own right after they took advantage of rivals Wellmeadow’s day off and a bad day for Meikleriggs.
All three sides had been level on 14 points last week, but it is Charleston who have now moved four points clear after Wellmeadow were this week’s idle side.
And Meikleriggs, who had led the table on shots difference, find themselves down to third after they were drubbed 4-0 by the new league leaders.
Priorscroft are up to fourth, despite only managing a 2-2 draw against new basement boys Caledonia, while Hawkhead drop down after a sore 4-0 reverse to Ferguslie.
Abercorn climbed off bottom spot with a 4-0 whitewash of Victoria.
Results: Abercorn 4 Victoria 0, Caledonia 2 Priorscroft 2, Charleston 4 Meikleriggs 0, Ferguslie 4 Hawkhead 0.
The fixtures for Thursday, July 7, are: Charleston v Hawkhead, Victoria v Wellmeadow, Abercorn v Meikleriggs, Ferguslie v Priorscroft.
