CALEDONIA will face a stiff test of their title credentials when they face Renfrew today in the latest round of games in the Paisley and District Whyte and Mackay First Division.
Only a solitary point separates both teams in the division, with Caledonia at the top of the tree with Renfrew perched in behind them.
And there are other teams all waiting to pounce should either of the two slip up this afternoon.
Blacklandmill have worked their way into a comfortable position and they will be eager to push home any advantage they can get.
But Kilbarchan stand in their way and given both teams’ current form, this is an encounter that is too close to call.
Charleston are up against Anchor in a battle for mid-table supremacy, while Barrhead will be aiming to increase their advantage over Elderslie when the two teams take to the greens today.
In Division Two, we are only a week into the new campaign but there are no less than four teams all jockeying for the top spot.
Ferguslie, Linwood, Victoria and Wellmeadow are all on 10 points after an encouraging start to the new season.
But it could all change this afternoon when the quartet get ready for their second competitive outings.
Ferguslie are at home to Linwood with precious points up for grabs, while Abercorn will be desperate to upset the odds when they face Wellmeadow.
In the Reserve Division, it is Charleston who rule the roost and enjoy a two-point advantage over Ralston.
Charleston face Caledonia today, while Ralston face a potentially tricky tie with Renfrew.
First Division fixtures are as follows: Anchor v Charleston, Barrhead v Elderslie, Blacklandmill v Kilbarchan, Caledonia v Renfrew, Hawkhead v Meikleriggs.
Division Two fixtures: Abercorn v Victoria, Ferguslie v Linwood, Neilston v Wellmeadow, Priorscroft v Ralston.
Reserve Division fixtures: Anchor v Meikleriggs, Blacklandmill v Elderslie, Caledonia v Charleston, Renfrew v Ralston. Hawkhead are the idle team.
