Inchinnan are dumped from pole position

INCHINNAN’S lead at the top of the Paisley Veteran’s Bowling Association Short Carpet League has ended abruptly after just seven days.

The pacesetters did keep up their winning ways with a 5-3 win over Hawkhead but Abercorn climb to the summit by virtue of their better scoreline against Elderslie.

Abercorn thrashed Elderslie 8-0 and they now move a point clear at the top.

Meikleriggs posted an emphatic 7-1 win over Renfrew which sees them move up from fifth in the table to third, while Anchor suffered disappointment at the hands of Charleston, losing their game 5-3.

Priorscroft were the idle team in the division and they are now looking pretty isolated at the foot of the table with a six point gap emerging between themselves and their nearest rivals.

Week Six results: Meikleriggs 7 Ralston 1, Lochfield 2 Renfrew 6, Kilbarchan 6 Victoria 2, Inchinnan 5 Hawkhead 3, Wellmeadow 7 Ferguslie 1, Abercorn 8 Elderslie 0, Anchor 3 Charleston 5, Blacklandmill 6 Caledonia 2. Priorscroft were the idle team.

Week Seven fixtures are: Lochfield v Inchinnan, Meikleriggs v Wellmeadow, Priorscroft v Abercorn, Ralston v Anchor, Renfrew v Blacklandmill, Victoria v Caledonia, Hawkhead v Charleston, Ferguslie v Elderslie. Kilbarchan are the idle team.
