Shanks and Victoria are celebrating

SHANKS Bowling Club and Victoria BC have won out in the race to pick up the first two items of silverware on offer in the 2008/09 Paisley and District Indoor Association season.

Barrhead Shanks swept to victory in the Hector McKinnon Trophy.

Meanwhile Victoria’s team managed to finish as top dogs in the John Buchanan Trophy.

Shanks took the Hector McKinnon Trophy after they picked up a shots difference of 20.

They beat Inchinnan BC, on eight and Neilston BC, who were also on eight, to the cup.

Victoria, meanwhile, dominated in the John Buchanan competition.

They won with a total shots difference of 47.

This winning total was in comparison to Johnstone’s shots difference, which was 42.
