Vets action kicks off today

THE long wait for the start of the Paisley Veterans Short Carpet Indoor League campaign will end later today.

Opening fixtures on offer are sure to keep the bowling fraternity entertained and on the edge of their sets from now until January.

All the action begins today when the teams get their respective campaigns underway.

Ralston face a tricky tie with Blacklandmill, while Inchinnan take on Kilbarchan and Elderslie will be aiming for the first points of the season when they face Hawkhead.

Initial fixtures are as follows: Wednesday, October 8: Elderslie v Hawkhead, Charleston v Victoria, Caledonia v Renfrew, Blacklandmill v Ralston, Anchor v Priorscroft, Abercorn v Meikleriggs, Wellmeadow v Lochfield, Inchinnan v Kilbarchan. Ferguslie are the idle team.

Wednesday, October 15, fixtures are: Victoria v Ferguslie, Renfrew v Elderslie, Ralston v Charleston, Priorscroft v Caledonia, Meikleriggs v Blacklandmill, Lochfield v Anchor, Kilbarchan v Abercorn, Inchinnan v Wellmeadow. Hawkhead are idle.
