PUPILS at Gleniffer High School proved they were a class apart when they took part in the Renfrewshire Schools Athletics Championships.
The event was open to first, second and third year pupils from the 11 secondary schools in Renfrewshire and was held at Linwood Sports Centre.
And the Gleniffer boys and girls were once again dominating the medals scene.
For the first year boys, Thomas Collins won bronze in the 1,500 metres, while in the second year category Laura McIntyre was a silver medallist in the Long Jump and Kyle Wilson won bronze in the 200 metres.
In addition, in the second year boys 4x100m relay, silver medals went to Scott Morrison, Andrew Craig, Kyle Wilson and Michael English.
For the third year pupils Brooke Hepburn won gold in the Shot Putt, Russell Mountford won gold in the 1,500 metres and Richard Wereski picked up a bronze in the Shot Putt.
The third year boys 4x100m relay team of Evan McCormick, Andrew A. Muir, Stuart Manwell and Craig Scott raced away to the precious gold medal.
A spokesman for the school added: “We were very pleased with the overall performances and the way in which the pupils conducted themselves throughout the day.”
