Armour re-signed at Neilston

NEILSTON manager Colin Lindsay has begun the rebuilding job at the Brig O’Lea by re-signing left midfielder Davie Armour for another season.

Lindsay’s side return to pre-season training on Monday and the ’Ton boss hopes to speak to the remaining squad about their future plans throughout next week.

On the way out at Neilston are midfielder Mark Ferris and defender Chris Wozencroft, who are both available for transfer.

Jamie Gilliland and Brian Miller are also understood to have been placed on the transfer list.

Lindsay added: “We’re back into pre-season training on Monday. Gone are the days when you used to get six weeks off in the summer. The season goes on for so long you only get a short break now.”

At Western Park, Renfrew defender Steven Jack has been placed on the transfer list.

Among the players staying on next season are James Crowhurst, Michael Dickie and John Hammond.

“We’ve spoken to our professional players and they’ve all been offered deals – with the exception of Steven Jack,” said general manager Dougie Mitchell.

“We are talking to a few other people so there is nothing for the supporters to get worried about. Players are away mulling over things and like every other club, corners have to be cut.”
