CLYDESIDE U19 3
GLENVALE U19 4
CLYDESIDE started to get on top early on in this Paisley and District under-19 league clash although they didn’t really test ’Vale keeper Gavin Wallace.
But after 20 minutes the visitors’ Jamie McLeod was fouled on the right hand side of the home box and sent over the free kick for Andy Logue to open the scoring.
Clydeside continued to have most of the play for the remainder of the half but it was the Paisley side who would go in with a slender lead at the break.
The away side started the second half looking to get a second goal but it was the hosts who struck first after the break when their midfielder Monti lashed home an incredible 25-yard volley to level the scores.
After 55 minutes it was Stirling who cut back for Annan and he finished from close range to restore ’Vale’s advantage.
But Clydeside never gave up and scored a deserved second equaliser after 65 minutes.
The Paisley men caught Clydeside with a classic sucker punch in the 75th minute to regain the lead for the third time.
McLeod was sent clean through and he showed all his quality by sending a terrific placed shot into the bottom corner
Then five minutes later captain Jamie Mckim sent McLeod through again, but this time the keeper did well to palm the striker’s shot away only for the ’Vale skipper to follow up and fire his side into a two-goal cushion.
Clydeside pulled one back with a couple of minutes remaining.
