There was heartache for Pat Liney last month when he watched former club Bradford City being outclassed in the final of the Capital One Cup at Wembley.
However, the former goalie reckons seeing St Mirren lift the Scottish Communities League Cup at Hampden tomorrow would go a long way to easing his pain.
Pat said: “It was great that Bradford got to the final of the Capital One Cup and, although they lost out to Swansea, it was amazing to see them play at Wembley.
“I flew down to London for the final and had a great day – and don’t forget that they had made light work of Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa to get there!
“St Mirren have also defied the odds by making it to the final of the League Cup because Celtic stood between them and a place at Hampden when they met in the semi-finals.
“The Saints players did us all proud by winning that game.
“I wonder what odds you’d have got at the bookies if you’d placed a bet on both St Mirren and Bradford City getting to a cup final this season?”
