The fans group which is hoping to snatch control of St Mirren has lodged a £1.25million offer with chairman Stewart Gilmour.
A bid was submitted by the 10000Hours group at the weekend and they are now waiting for Gilmour and four other Saints directors to decide if the sum is enough to persuade them to hand over their 52 per cent controlling stake in the Buddies.
Haulage firm boss Richard Atkinson, who is the bid architect, plans to give supporters a say on how St Mirren will be run in future and has already secured backing from more than 1,000 fans.
However, he faces competition from at least two other groups, with an as-yet-unnamed American bidder understood to have already lodged an alternative £1.5million offer.
Previous talks between Gilmour and the 10000Hours group were put on hold earlier this summer as the Rangers fiasco plunged Scottish football into chaos.
