Young guns return

YOUNG guns Ally Love and Michael McLennan have returned to St Mirren after completing their loan stint with Stenhousemuir.

The pair were sent to Ochilview at the beginning of November on a month-long deal in a bid to give them some first-team experience. However, only Love saw any action for the Warriors.

Both youngsters were on the bench for Stenny’s Second Division clash with Brechin City on November 6.

However, former St Mirren boss John Coughlin – now in charge of the Stirlingshire outfit – decided against throwing them into the fray.

Midfielder McLennan was back on the bench for Stenhousemuir’s trip to Alloa a week later but, once again, did not feature.

Left-back Love, however, was given a 69-minute run out from the start before being replaced.

That was as much action as either player saw and Coughlin has now decided against extending their stays with Stenny.

A spokesperson for Stenhousemuir said: “The loan period for both Ally Love and Michael McLennan has now expired and they have returned to St Mirren.

“The club would like to wish both players all the best for their future.”
