BUDDIES boss Gus MacPherson has told of his delight at seeing Chris Smith return to action.
‘Smudger’ has been farmed out to Dunfermline on loan for the next six weeks.
This is as he continues his recovery from a horror knee ligament injury that had put him out of action since March.
The talented goalie made his return to competitive action on Tuesday night when he helped the Pars to a 2-1 win over title rivals Queen of the South.
And MacPherson is thrilled to see the player off the treatment table and back between the sticks.
He said: “I’m delighted that Chris has managed to get his loan deal with Dunfermline until the start of the new year.
“This is important for Chris as it will give him an eye for the game again.
“He has been out for some time but he is fit again and has played some bounce games, so this was the next logical step for him to make.
“We have total confidence in Chris that he is going to go to East End Park and give a good account of himself.”
