Murray returns home following groin surgery

MIDFIELDER Hugh Murray has begun the long road back to rehabilitation.

Shuggie, right, travelled south to have an operation on a groin injury last week and has returned home to recuperate.

It’s hoped the 30 year-old will be fit and available on time for St Mirren’s pre-season preparations, which start on Monday, July 6.

Said Saints manager MacPherson: “I’ve not spoken to the medical staff yet but Hugh is back up the road and is resting after coming through his surgery.

“Now it’s a case of him getting on with his rehab programme.”

Defender Scott Cuthbert, who will report back to Celtic next month for pre-season training, came through a similar procedure on his groin three weeks ago.
