SUPPORTERS at St Mirren Park will be able to hear stadium announcements loud and clear next season after the club splashed out on a new PA system.
Work on the installation of ambient noise sensors which will improve the performance of the stadium’s public address speakers has now been completed.
Some fans complained about the poor sound quality coming from the speakers – particularly in the West Stand – after the club’s new home in Greenhill Road was opened.
The ambient sound sensors have been fitted in all four stands and are set to keep the sound from the public address system’s speakers at 10 decibels above the sound being made from the fans in the stands. There are 10 sensors set up around the four stands, which should allow for variance of sound levels within different areas.
A club spokesperson said: “We trust this improvement will add to the atmosphere.”
