SAINTS will today find out who their opponents will be in the first round of next season’s Co-operative Insurance League Cup.
The draw will be made in the Queen’s Park Social Club at Lesser Hampden at 11.30am.
It will be conducted by former St Mirren star Billy Stark, who is now Scotland’s Under-19s coach, and he will be joined by a representative of the tournament sponsors.
The Buddies will be one of 16 seeded clubs in the first round draw, meaning they are guaranteed to be paired with lower league opposition.
Also in the hat for today’s draw will be Inverness Caley Thistle and the 30 clubs who took part in the First, Second and Third Divisions during the course of the 2008/09 campaign.
Last season, Gus MacPherson’s side made it to the third round of the Co-operative Insurance League Cup.
They thumped Dumbarton 7-0 at Love Street but their tournament hopes ended when they slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Dunfermline at East End Park in September.
