It’s three and easy for Ross

RIGHT-BACK Jack Ross has ended the season in fine style by taking home a treble of trophies.

Ross, 32, won the “double” when he was named Club Player of the Year and Official Website Player of the Year during the St Mirren annual Premier Awards Dinner at the Normandy Hotel.

And former Falkirk star Ross can now add his trophy double to the unofficial player of the year trophy he won on the www.blackandwhitearmy.com website

But the Saints defender admitted he staggered over the line and no more.

He said: “I probably wasn’t at my best towards the tail end of the campaign but maybe that’s because my petrol light was flashing.

“It’s been a long hard season and right now I just want to go away on my holidays and come back refreshed but I’ll certainly enjoy the time off after winning all these trophies.

“It’s been a good season from a personal point of view and one of the major highlights was obviously getting an international call-up for the Scotland B squad.”

Ross was given a rousing reception when he went up to collect his awards in front of a crowd of more than 600 people.

He added: “The important thing for me is that I have to be setting new targets and ambitions and at 32, this is what drives me on.

“I feel that I have improved as a player this year and hopefully I can continue that improvement next season too.”

Stephen McGinn was also honoured as he won the Young Player of the Year trophy, while Andy Dorman won the Braehead Player of the Year accolade.
