SAINTS striker Jim Hamilton is facing a race against time to be fit for tomorrow’s SPL showdown with Motherwell.
Hamilton, who scored during last weekend’s 2-1 defeat against Inverness Caley Thistle, suffered a knock to his knee in that encounter and is rated as ‘touch and go’ for tomorrow’s match.
However, Buddies boss Gus MacPherson will give the 33-year-old hitman every chance to win his race to be fit to face the Steelmen.
MacPherson said: “Jim has received a knock to his knee but we will wait and see how he is closer to the game.”
Defender Will Haining and midfielder Steven Thomson, who both missed last weekend’s game due to injuries, are expected to be back in the squad for tomorrow’s match.
Left-back Franco Miranda and midfielder Stephen O’Donnell made their long-awaited comebacks from injury for the reserves at Glebe Park in Brechin on Tuesday but the Motherwell game is likely to arrive too early for them to make a return to first team action.
