One victory away from Morton clash

SAINTS will begin their quest to retain the Renfrewshire Cup next week.

Gus MacPherson’s side will take on Gourock Thistle for the right to meet arch-rivals Morton in the final.

The semi-final match will take place at St Mirren Park on Thursday, May 14, and will kick-off at 7pm.

Fans are being asked to note season tickets will not be valid for this game.

The price of admission is £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.

St Mirren retained the Renfrewshire Cup in July last year when they beat Morton 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out at Cappielow after the game had ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Marc McAusland’s headed goal cancelled out Ian Russell’s opener before spot-kick heroes Craig Dargo, Jim Hamilton, Andy Dorman, John Potter and Garry Brady earned the bragging rights for Saints.
