SAINTS striker Billy Mehmet should find out today if he will be available for this weekend’s Scottish Cup showdown at Hampden.
Mehmet has been racing against time to be fit for the big game against cup holders Rangers.
The 25-year-old hitman – who is St Mirren’s joint top scorer this season, with 11 goals to his name so far – picked up a hamstring strain against Hibernian last week.
He was forced to miss last weekend’s 2-0 SPL win over Motherwell at Fir Park as a result.
But Saints manager Gus MacPherson will assess Mehmet in training today before making a final decision on whether or not to include him in the Hampden squad.
Fellow injury victims Stephen O’Donnell, Steven Robb, Franco Miranda, Chris Smith and Tom Brighton will all be missing from the team that lines up against Rangers tomorrow.
Meanwhile, supporters are being reminded that the remaining tickets for the semi-final clash will be available from the ticket office at St Mirren Park today right through until 6pm.
