THERE was a return to winning ways for St Mirren’s second string as they recorded a 2-1 victory against Kilmarnock’s reserves at Rugby Park.
Jim Hamilton fired Saints into the lead after half an hour before Gary Mason extended the lead three minutes later.
Killie pulled a goal back through Conor Sammon in the second half but Saints held on to secure their first SPL Reserve League victory for three games.
The line-up featured goalkeeping coach Paul Mathers, defenders Will Haining, Marc McAusland and David Barron and midfielder Garry Brady.
Also featuring was striker Dennis Wyness, who is returning to fitness after a rib injury kept him out of the recent first team games against Rangers, Inverness Caley Thistle and Hibernian.
St Mirren are expected to play their last home game of the SPL Reserve League season against Dundee United on Tuesday, April 21, with the venue and kick-off time still to be confirmed.
