Dorman nets as Reserves take third place

ANDY Dorman was on the scoresheet for St Mirren’s Reserves yesterday afternoon as they recorded a 2-0 win against Dundee United.

The midfielder pounced just past the hour mark to give the second string the advantage in a keenly-contested SPL Reserve League match played at Gayfield, the home of Second Division outfit Arbroath.

And youngster Ben Carson put the Buddies on easy street with the second goal after 80 minutes.

Yesterday’s victory was the second in a row for the Saints reserves and hauls them up to third spot in the table.

Also featuring for the Paisley men in yesterday’s clash were first team stars Craig Dargo, Jim Hamilton and Stephen McGinn, while fringe player Marc McAusland was also given a runout.

St Mirren’s next scheduled SPL Reserve League game is against Hibs at home, with a date and kick-off time to be confirmed.
