Second string are aiming for another victory

ST MIRREN’S second string will be aiming to produce some fireworks this afternoon when they head to the north east for their latest outing in the SPL Reserve League.

The Buddies will take on Dundee United and are aiming to make it two victories in a row.

Saints go into the game on the back of their impressive 4-1 victory over Hamilton Accies at New Southcroft Park, Rutherglen, seven days ago.

On target for the Buddies in their last game were Paul Quinn, Jim Hamilton, Marc McAusland and Kyle Faulds.

Ruled out for the Saints today are injury victims Will Haining, David Barron, Tom Brighton, Stephen O’Donnell and Tonet.

This afternoon’s game takes place at Gayfield, home of Second Division side Arbroath, and will kick-off at 1pm.
