Haining hopeful for Hearts match

DEFENDER Will Haining is the latest Saint at the centre of an injury scare.

Haining, 26, missed Saturday’s game after he suffered a muscle injury in training.

The injury didn’t flare up until Friday but it proved serious enough to force him out of action.

And now the race is on to see if the reliable centre back will be fit in time to make Saints’ SPL clash with Hearts at Love Street this weekend.

Buddies boss Gus MacPherson said: “He damaged a muscle in his shoulder during training on Thursday and it only became apparent on Friday morning that he would not be able to play.”

Also currently on the sidelines at Love Street is striker Tom Brighton, right-back David Barron and midfielders Stephen O’Donnell and Tonet.
