ST MIRREN 3 ABERDEEN 2
SUPER Saints soared 12 points clear of the SPL drop-zone last night after goals from Michael Higdon, Craig Dargo and Steven Thomson handed them a priceless victory over Aberdeen.
Hungry hitman Higdon fired Saints into the driving seat after six minutes, connecting with Dargo's pass before smashing a great shot beyond the reach of Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield.
But Aberdeen pulled level after 47 minutes when Chris Maguire's low shot from close range came off Hugh Murray on its route to goal.
Dargo, though, made it 2-1 in 57 minutes when he tucked home a David van Zanten low cross from six yards in what was a nicely worked move from Danny Lennon's Buddies.
And Thomson made it 3-1 10 minutes later when he despatched a Dargo pass from 12 yards out.
Robert Millsom made it 3-2 into injury time but Saints held out to take the win.
