Juniors kick off with two derby crackers

THE competitive season begins tonight for Junior football clubs Renfrew, Johnstone Burgh, Arthurlie and Neilston.

All four teams will launch their Sectional League Cup campaigns as they bid to win the first piece of silverware on offer.

Renfrew and Johnstone lock horns at Keanie Park in the Renfrewshire derby in what is expected to be a keenly contested affair.

And in another tasty clash, Mark Cameron’s Arthurlie do battle with bitter rivals Pollok at Dunterlie in a game that’s expected to attract a massive crowd to the Barrhead venue.

Neilston, meanwhile, former winners of the competition in 2005, travel to McKenna Park to take on St Anthony’s.
