Free football coaching up for grabs

YOUNG football fanatics are being urged to take advantage of a week’s free soccer coaching at Ferguslie Sports Centre next week.

The courses are for five to 18-year-olds and will be delivered by community coaches at St Mirren FC.

Classes will run from Monday, July 28, to Friday, August 1, from 10am to 3pm and places are available for up to 120 participants.

In addition a multi-sport activity week is also being staged at Ferguslie Sports Centre from Monday, August 11, to Friday, August 15, from 10am to 2pm, for five to 18-year-olds.

The free coaching sessions were made possible by a grant from the Renfrewshire Council Local Area Committee and anyone aged between five and 18 in the Paisley North area can book a place.

Booking and consent forms are available by calling in at Ferguslie Sports Centre.

Darryl Ramage, facility co-ordinator at Ferguslie Park Sports, Recreation and Leisure Trust, said: “Booking is essential as numbers are limited to 120 people.”

The activity weeks also include educational information on the misuse and affects of drugs and alcohol.
