Graham Carey
Buddies boss Danny Lennon has heaped praise on full-back Graham Carey for filling the void left by Paul Dummett’s return to Newcastle United.
Dummett earned rave reviews for his performances in a St Mirren jersey before his loan spell at the Paisley club ended at the start of this month.
Lennon had been hopeful that the Magpies starlet could be brought back to Saints on another loan deal until the end of the season, only to see the move stall.
That has opened the door for 23-year-old Irish ace Carey in recent games – and he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
The former Celtic kid was hugely impressive against his former club in Sunday’s sensational Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final victory at Hampden and kept his place in the team for last night’s SPL clash at home to Inverness Caley Thistle.
Lennon told Express Sports: “The performance that Graham produced on Sunday was nothing short of unbelievable.
“It’s not only team performances you look for as a manager, it’s individual ones too, and Graham really set the standard there.”
