SAINTS coach Tommy Craig has been getting to know Danny Lennon again . . . after ordering the Buddies boss to observe a summer silence.
Lennon has revealed that his right-hand man was left so frazzled by last season’s exploits that he made it clear there should be no contact between them while they enjoyed their respective summer breaks.
However, the dynamic duo now are now working in tandem again as the pre-season preparations gather pace.
And Lennon reckons their efforts to push St Mirren even higher up the SPL table after an impressive eighth-place finish in the last campaign will be boosted by their recent time apart.
However, he also revealed that the lines of communication between them weren’t completely cut off while they were both recharging their batteries.
Lennon told Express Sports: “It’s been great seeing some familiar faces again now that we are back at training and looking forward to a new season but you do need that time away from one another.
“When the season ended and I was heading off on holiday, wee Tommy said to me: ‘Look, I don’t even want to hear from you.’
“In the end, we did have the odd conversation but they didn’t have the same intensity as the ones we have through the season.
“That’s the healthy way to do it. It’s important to make sure that you come back for a new season feeling not only physically refreshed but mentally refreshed too.”
