SAINTS fans can snap up a ‘boot-iful’ bargain ... by bidding for the footwear sported by two goalscoring heroes.
Club chiefs are auctioning off boots worn by Steven Thompson and Paul McGowan last season, with the proceeds being used to help rear young stars at St Mirren Park.
But supporters will have to be quick off the mark if they want to buy a little bit of history, as 5pm today is the deadline for bids.
Thompson’s boots are the ones he was wearing on October 15 last year when he scored an injury-time equaliser against Rangers at Ibrox.
And playmaker McGowan has donated the boots he wore as he smashed home a sensational winner in the Christmas Eve cracker against the Gers in Paisley.
A spokesman for St Mirren said: “All proceeds from the auction will go towards the youth development programme to help nurture our players of the future.”
Fans must be at least 16 years of age to make a bid and can send an e-mail, with the subject header ‘St Mirren Auction,’ to auction@saintmirren.net before the 5pm deadline.
Your e-mail must include details of the item you are bidding for, the value of your bid and your contact details.
