Dog plays fetch with live hand grenade

A routine game of fetch between a pet and its owner in Germany turned into a potential life or death situation - when the dog delivered back a live hand grenade.

The woman realised the rusty object her dog was carrying was infact a weapon and alerted police.

Weapons experts were drafted in to the village of Erkrath to identify and difuse the grenade which had been left over from World War Two.
