FANS of Doctor Who star David Tennant all over the world are being given the chance to make a donation to the hospice where his mother died after a brave battle with cancer.
Yesterday we told how the Paisley actor paid an emotional tribute to his mum Helen McDonald at her funeral on Saturday telling mourners she had “made the world a better place”.
Now, a website devoted to the actor has included a link to Paisley’s ACCORD Hospice, where Helen – a tireless charity worker – was cared for in her final days.
Mrs McDonald was the chairman of the Paisley Friends of ACCORD Hospice for a number of years.
The website – www.david-tennant.com – is also giving his fans the opportunity to post a message of condolence to him.
A notice reads: “As some of you may have heard already, David's mother Helen sadly passed away on Sunday.
“We know that a lot of you have expressed the wish to have the opportunity to leave your sympathies for David and his family on our forums in a Book Of Condolences thread.
“Please feel free to leave your message but also please respect that this is a very private and sad subject.
“We also know that a lot of you would like to make a donation to the ACCORD hospice of which Helen was a founding member.”
Mrs McDonald, who was 67, is also survived by husband Sandy, a former Kirk Moderator, daughter Karen son Blair, and grandchildren Rachel, Matthew, Alexandra, Maisie and Hannah.
