LAST weekend’s heatwave turned me into ‘mum’ when I was around my mates.
I was constantly wandering round the group, looking for my next victim to lather in sun cream!
There was no choice in the matter – they were soon plastered in factor 30 or more.
I am the biggest sun lover but I’ve had my fair share of sunburn that have left me scarred – quite literally – and I’m now very conscious of how dangerous these rays can be.
Last year, I was in Ibiza when I fell asleep on the beach and woke up late in the evening and got the fright of my life.
Even though I had been wearing sun cream, my face was swollen, peeling and just absolutely disgusting for days afterwards.
On top of that, it was agony.
I can’t understand why people sit in 25 degree heat and aim to burn ... or how they can look at bright red lines next to their usual skin colour and think it looks decent.
I know we hear about it all the time, so why do we continue to go too farand allow ourselves to scorch?
Use sun protection ... that’s your Friday morning lecture…
