Four people have been arrested after a man was found seriously injured in his home.
Police said the 66-year-old victim was in a critical but stable condition when he was taken to hospital.
He was discovered in the house in Blantyre Terrace, Buckie, last Tuesday.
Grampian Police said four people from the Buckie area - two men aged 30 and 16 and two women aged 42 and 41 - have been arrested.
They are all expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court later.
Detective Inspector Stewart Mackie, who is leading the investigation, thanked the public for their help.
He said: "Officers will continue to work in the Buckie area over the next few days whilst we complete our investigation.
"I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to this crime to come forward."
