A man is being held by police in connection with an explosion in a tenement close.
The 24-year-old, from Dundee, has been detained by Tayside police investigating the blast in Cullen Place, Dundee on Thursday night.
Police said at the time that the device could have put lives at risk and caused significant damage.
They said the device was not sophisticated, but was designed to cause harm.
No one was injured but doors and windows in the block were damaged.
Residents were evacuated while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The man was detained by officers, who stopped a van in Claverhouse Road, Dundee, shortly before 9pm on Saturday.
The vehicle was seized and a temporary cordon put in place.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment was called in to check the vehicle did not pose a threat to the public, and the van was removed for forensic examination.
Tayside police said inquiries are continuing and will include further searches in the Dundee area.
