Neil praises energy advice scheme

A helpline which offers energy-saving advice received nearly 7,000 calls in the last three weeks from householders seeking to cut their bills, new figures have shown.

The Scottish Government's energy assistance helpline is averaging more than 400 callers a day.

Housing Minister Alex Neil, who visited the Edinburgh call centre, said the service helps those most in need.
