Fans in Dunblane, Perthshire, are now making plans for parties to watch their local hero when he battles to win the Australian Open on Sunday morning.
The British number one, who reached the US Open final in 2008, defeated Cilic 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 and will meet either world number one Roger Federer or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Sunday's showpiece.
