Drive to end care system 'stigma'

A campaign aimed at tackling the stigma and discrimination of children in care is "long overdue", charity bosses have said.

Who Cares? Scotland said research showed that around a quarter of adults believed that children aged over 12 were taken into care because of their behaviour.

A Scottish Opinion survey commissioned by the charity also showed that around six in every 10 adults questioned agreed that being in care can help young people to get their lives back on track.
