Funeral held for rescue soldier

A soldier killed during an operation to rescue a journalist kidnapped in Afghanistan has been laid to rest.

Corporal John Harrison, 29, from the Parachute Regiment, died in a daring pre-dawn operation to rescue Stephen Farrell, a reporter with the New York Times, on September 9.

Mr Farrell, who holds dual British and Irish citizenship, was released during the raid but his Afghan interpreter Sultan Munadi also died.
