Novel set to hit big screen

A controversial novel published almost 20 years ago and featuring sado-masochistic sex is to hit the big screen, it has emerged.

Something Leather by Scottish novelist Alasdair Gray is to be adapted by rookie film-maker Michelle Eastwood as her debut feature, according to the Herald newspaper.

The movie will be backed with cash from the UK Film Council.
